Have you ever wanted to scream, "JUST TELL ME WHAT TO DO AND I'LL DO IT!"- DECISION FATIGUE IS REAL
Have you ever just wanted someone to tell you exactly what to do because you were too tired or overwhelmed to make another decision?
Well, tonight I did something I'd never done before, and it has to do with decisions, and how making too many decisions stops us from doing anything.
You see, Mother's Day happens this weekend, and instead of waiting for my husband to read my mind, and take me to a fancy restaurant (which means bar to him),
I said, "On Friday night, you are taking me out to dinner." I told him what time and where we were going.
It felt great to be specific and to not wait around for him to read my mind, but damn, sometimes I really wish someone would make some decision for me.
Do you ever feel that way?
Sometimes, I just wish someone would say,
"Eat this. Do this. Don't eat that. This is what you are having for dinner. Wear this!"
I feel like I make decisions for so many others all day long!
"Lift this weight so many times, now stretch, breathe, drink water, eat protein, sleep, recover..."
Don't get me wrong. I LOVE my job and my clients but...making so many decisions can be exhausting!
Did you know there is an actual name for the fatigue we get from making so many decisions?
It is called....duh duh duh...
DECISION FATIGUE
Sounds on the nose, right?
In the Stronger Together Women's Coaching Program, we spend quite a bit of time discussing Decision Fatigue and how sometimes simply having a plan (a program, a coach, a workout routine) can make it completely disappear!
Think about it. Have you ever thought,
"I want to be healthy, but I have no idea where to start! There are too many directions to go. Too many decisions to make!"
"Cardio or Strength? Where do I start?"
"OK, I'm at the gym, but I have NO IDEA what to do...maybe I can walk on the treadmill (and be bored out of my mind)."
"What the HECK do I EAT????"
